What is the Lucas (Leucospermum) Flower?
Leucospermum is a genus of flowers native to South Africa and belonging to the same family (Proteaceae) as protea . It is known in English as "pincushion" because of the long, needle-like styles at the flower head; in Turkey, it is simply called "Lucas" among florists. Thanks to its thick texture, it lasts a long time in a vase and retains its shape when dried. In collections, it is used in tropical bouquets with protea, banksia, and anthurium, and in autumn arrangements with red roses.
