Mother's Day
How did the concept of Mother's Day originate?
The concept of Mother's Day originated in the United States with Anna Jarvis's initiative in 1908 to commemorate her own deceased mother. Two years after her mother's funeral, on the second Sunday of May, the anniversary of her mother's death, Mrs. Jarvis invited her friends to her home and proposed the idea of celebrating Mother's Day nationwide.
