Flower Garden in a Jar - Making Jam with Flowers

Fragrant flowers are everywhere in our lives, from potted plants to our dinner tables! While fruit and vegetable jams are a staple of our breakfast tables, why not flowers too? Besides the well-known rose, you'll be surprised to see the flowers that can be made into jam. Wisteria, poppies, lavender, lilac, jasmine, violets, and elderflower are just a few. We've compiled the most beautiful and delicious floral jam recipes for you.

500 grams of wisteria flowers
500 gr powdered sugar
2 glasses of water
Half a lemon
After picking the wisteria flowers from the stem, separate the petals and place them in a bowl, covering them with water. Let them sit like this for about half an hour, then rinse them thoroughly with plenty of water without damaging the flowers. Put 2 cups of water and sugar in a saucepan and heat until the syrup thickens. Immediately after, add the wisteria flowers. The flowers will cook in the syrup for a short time. After about 10 minutes, add the juice of half a lemon and boil for a few more minutes. After letting the jam rest for a while, you can fill it into jars. And your wisteria jam is ready! Enjoy :)

500 grams of poppy flowers
500 gr powdered sugar
1 glass of water
1 teaspoon of citric acid powder,
a very small amount of vanilla (the tip of a teaspoon)
We clean the poppies we've gathered, removing the black parts at the base, and place them in a bowl, covering them with water. After letting them sit like this for about half an hour, we carefully strain them without damaging the flowers and pour boiling water over them in a bowl. We put 1 cup of water and sugar in a saucepan and heat it until the syrup thickens. Immediately after, we add the blanched poppy flowers. Once it reaches the desired consistency, we add a very small amount of vanilla (the tip of a teaspoon) and after a few minutes, we add 1 teaspoon of citric acid powder. The citric acid will turn the jam red. After letting your jam rest for a while, you can fill it into jars. And your bright red poppy jam is ready! Enjoy :)

500-1000 grams of lavender flowers
4 cups of powdered sugar
3 glasses of water
half a lemon
1-2 cloves (optional)
First, we need to separate the flowers from the lavender we've collected or bought. This is a lengthy process. We place the separated flowers in a bowl and cover them with water. After letting them sit for about half an hour, we strain the water without damaging the flowers. We mix the cleaned lavender flowers with 2 cups of sugar and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight.
The next day, we put the remaining 2 cups of sugar and 3 cups of water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then we add the sugar-lavender mixture that we kept in the refrigerator to the saucepan. We boil it until it thickens, then add the juice of half a lemon and boil it a little more. After your jam has rested for a while, you can fill it into jars. If you wish, you can add cloves during the cooling process. And your fragrant lavender jam is ready! Enjoy :)
