Carnivorous Plants:
Insectivorous plants have been one of the most fascinating plant species from the past to the present. We know plants for their calm nature. But did you know that some plants eat insects and have traps to catch their prey?

The best-known species among these plants is the Venus flytrap. Its pleasant scent attracts creatures. Its cup-shaped, hairy leaves quickly close upon contact with an insect. It digests the insect through the enzymes it releases.

The pitcher plant, like other plants of its kind, operates with a flawless mechanism. The leaves of these plants, belonging to the Nepenthes genus, are tube-shaped and contain water. Insects are attracted to these plants because they produce a delicious and sugary liquid. The pitcher plant digests the insects it hunts using its special helpers: fly larvae.

This plant has elliptical leaves covered in long hairs. When insects approach its surface, it secretes a sticky liquid, which then curls up to prevent escape. Another interesting fact about this plant is that insects of the Apiomerus species live on its leaves, but the secretion doesn't attract them. These insects feed on the leftovers of the plant's prey.
