Roses are high water-consuming flowers; small steps taken in the first hours after placing the bouquet in a vase noticeably extend its lifespan.

  • Cut the stems at an angle. Before placing in a vase, cut one to two centimeters off each stem at an angle to widen the water-absorbing surface.
  • Change the water every two days. Rinse the vase each time and clean out any leaf fragments left in the water.
  • Keep away from heat. Radiators, direct sunlight, and air conditioning drafts cause roses to open too quickly.
  • Monitor the orchid separately. Patara orchid needs less water than roses; remove wilted petals to preserve its shape.
